Better Pensions For All - This Is Possible With Residual Income

With all the unrest and upheaval in the current economies and concerns about better pensions, it’s relevant that I agree with one particular slogan “Better Pensions For ALL”. This may be controversial, especially with the public sector unrest currently showing great concern over their pension, but I believe that everyone deserves better. Problem is, like always, it’s down to money.

I had a traditional business for nigh on 30 years until the financial crisis led to me having to close the business. I had put some money into a private pension but this had to be frozen and now I have little or no prospect of a decent pension, which will force me to have to work on – something which the workers who are in dispute are campaigning against. Not that I don’t sympathise, I do – simply because everybody deserves the best they can have.

So what did I do? I went into looking for a way to create a pension for myself where I won’t have to worry about the value of the savings or how much I will lose because of the contributions I have to give from my salary, which in most cases is a lot more than I earn at the moment from my “J.O.B” (Just Over Broke). I have found that having a successful MLM home based business will lead to a residual income, which is repeated income that you will get paid for doing a job just once and then get monthly reward for as long as the customer you brought in remains a customer.

Of course, this is merely the start. There is hard work required to grow an organisation, but the rewards can lead to more time freedom and more income each month. One person I know actually retired in his late 30’s and started to work again 5 years later because he was bored and wanted to take his business to a higher level. During his time in “retirement” his income had doubled because he had spent his time building a successful team around him and the organisation grew as did his income.

One of the most important things to do is to research the company you intend to join (if you decide this may be an alternative for you to struggling with the stress of what you may end up with) thoroughly. Look at the time the company has traded and its performance, then look at the corporate side and check out the management and their history. Then you need to look at the product to see if it’s something that is likely to be of value.

The company I have recently got involved with to build my prospective residual income and better pension has all of these things. Even though they have only been trading for 2 years, these years have been extremely successful and they are expanding worldwide having just opened in the UK.

Why Aren't You Making Money On The Net?

Are you wondering why you’re not making money on the net? I had reason to ask myself this question some time ago. The more I thought about it, the clearer the answers became.

If you are not making the money you want on the net now, read on and you will find some useful ideas based on my experiences. What I have to say applies equally to small business, home based business and network marketers.

The funny thing is that I knew what I had to do to make money. Nevertheless, I was not doing it! I continued to surf around various sites looking for that magic formula that would automatically put money in my bank account without having to do anything.

Why did I keep on avoiding the very steps or actions that would generate money for my business? Did I want my business to fail? No! Did I want to fail on the net? No! I was so easily distracted by the latest and greatest way to make money on the net that I spent my time reviewing these at the expense of building my own business.

I fooled myself into thinking that just because I had links to various products and services on my web page I would make money. The first fundamental principle of making money on the net is NO TRAFFIC equals NO INCOME. Just having a web page does not mean the world will beat a path to your door.

To solve this, I submitted my pages to the search engines. For a short time, when one of my pages enjoyed a listing within the top ten results for a keyword search, I had some extra traffic. Once I lost that position, the traffic dried up. I then tried resubmitting that page to regain my top 10 position but to no avail.

Now was the time for discouragement to set in. I had tried the obvious ways to get people to my web pages without success. I had submitted a few free classified ads but this was a tedious and time-consuming process. The results were far from spectacular also. Then I went on to do more advances search engine optimization courses and adopted those methods and still no great success. Yes, I had more traffic, but it wasn’t as targeted as I really needed. There seemed to be no way to win on the net!

How do I make progress and what I have I learnt from this experience? With any success gained in life, there are a few of key factors - discipline, persistence and belief. Discipline is doing what needs to be done every day to achieve the goal you are aiming for. Persistence is continuing the process but making changes where necessary so that the goal is reached. Belief is the confidence that you can do it.

I needed to reassess things and adjust my business plan.

With this in mind, it was time to go back to the basics of business and marketing and to answer some fundamental questions.

Who are people who will buy my product and/or service?

How can I reach them in the most cost-effective manner?

Once you know who will buy your product and/or service, then you can determine the best ways of contacting them. To know who will buy your product and/or service, ask yourself these questions:

What are the benefits to my potential buyers of my product and/or service?

Let us say that you are marketing a business opportunity. An important benefit of your opportunity is the ability of your prospect to make some extra money. Other benefits could include no longer having to work for a boss, financial independence, realization of dreams such as overseas travel, and the list could go on.

What people would gain from these benefits?

It is tempting to answer this question by saying "everyone". However, this is simply not true. The best prospects may be those who are looking for an opportunity to increase their income. They could be people who are looking to start their own business but do not have a product or service to market. They could be people who have a small business and are looking for ways to increase their revenues.

Now we need to consider how we get in contact with these people. Where do they gather on the net? Are there others on the net who are already contacting this group of people?

One of the easiest ways to research how to contact the people who will buy our product and/or service is to review all the ezines published. Today, there are many ezines that cater to various interest groups and there is sure to be a number that will reach the people you need to contact.

Do a Google search to find sites where you can research ezines that may reach your target prospects. Examples include the Directory of Ezines and Zineworld. Once you have found the ezines that your prospects are reading, you have two ways of using this to your advantage. Most ezines accept classified ads for a fee and this can be an effective way to bring to your site a stream of qualified traffic to your capture page and therefore to grow your list. That way you can start to build your relationship with your new list subscribers.

However, the most cost-effective way is through writing articles that would interest your prospects and submitting them to the ezines for publication. Many ezines are looking for good quality material they can publish for the benefit of their readers. This provides benefits to you and the ezine publisher. You receive valuable free publicity for your site and the ezine editor receives a valuable contribution to their publication.

The targeted approach to contacting those who want to buy your product or service is usually always more cost effective that any other way. I am following my own advice and benefiting. I suggest you try it so we can all be making money on the net!

How To Get Your Business To Grow From A Seed To A Plant

This may be a well used metaphor, but a start up business can be treated like a seed that we all want to develop from a seed to a plant.

The pertinent question here is: Do you have all the business you could possibly want or need? If you're like me, you're still growing your business. Marketing is an ongoing item on my agenda, and I'm always looking for new ways to market my services. Where do you begin the process of attracting more business? How do you get the ball rolling in the direction you want your business to be heading? Well, it's really simple. Start planting seeds! If you can start your garden growing this spring, why not start your business growing too?

You can start by telling everyone what you do, including those people in your life you see every day. Talk to your hairdresser, dentist, financial advisor, or babysitter. You just never know who they might know who may want or need your products or services. Leave business cards with those people, so they can hand them out to others who may be interested in contacting you. That old saying that includes the line "the butcher, the baker, and the candlestick maker" may just ring true after all.

You need to get in front of as many people as you can to share your message, so plant seeds everywhere you go. Typical ways to market your business are fine, but the best way is by simply using word-of-mouth. "Who do you know..." can be a very powerful statement when you are talking to others about what you do or what you sell. Let your presence be known. Be creative!

It’s important to have your own circle of influence. When someone either in my professional circle or my personal circle is looking for a particular service, I'm able to refer them to someone I know and trust. All of the professionals on my list are able to refer me to those they know as well. It's a win/win situation. My name is on their list, their name is on mine, so the seed has been planted, and keeps growing.

These are just a couple of great ideas to help you get started in growing your business (if you want more business that is!). Taking some small action every day is better than doing nothing at all. Following a simple action plan consistently will most likely lead to several great opportunities down the road. Who knows? If you put in the effort, you just may find new business knocking on your door instead of the other way around.

Studies have shown that to be a successful home business entrepreneur you need to have the following characteristics. Do you possess these characteristics?

1. Self-confidence

This is the magical power of having confidence in yourself and in your strengths and abilities. This doesn’t mean that you have to be pushy and overpowering, more that you have an air of confidence and positive attitude around you.

2. Are you Achievement Oriented?

To get the best results from your efforts you need to be focused and consistent. You should work to a plan that concentrates on your goals. These goals are targeted to your business growth and progress rather than concentrated on unrelated and meaningless tasks.

3. Are you prepared to take risks?

In any business venture, there is a possibility that you could experience a loss inherent in reaching for any goal. It’s important that have the confidence necessary to take calculated risks to achieve your goals.

Considering these three main points, which do you think is the most important? Believe it or not, it is self-confidence.

Without self-confidence, then you could struggle to achieve your dreams. It’s not impossible, but if you don't believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises may knock you off the path to achieving your goals. Here are a few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of self-confidence.

* Positive Thinking

It all starts with a positive attitude! Believing that something good will happen is the first step.  Eradicate negative emotions and negative vocabulary from your thoughts. An example is the use of Can’t or I find this difficult or I have this problem. Believe that you can, I will overcome this challenge and progress and the solution for this is…..

Negative thinking is just not advisable (so stop it right now). You must truly believe that there are no circumstances hard enough to deter you from reaching your goals. Basically, nothing will get in your way and nobody will stop you.

Try the exercise created by French psychotherapist Emile Coue - every morning repeat "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better." You might be surprised that this simple exercise has been getting results since the early 1900s!

Remember too, that positive thinking can be contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to new ideas, customers, friends, etc.

* Consistent Action

All the positive thinking and believing in the world is useless if it is not applied towards a goal. You have to take action, no excuses allowed. This action must also be consistent. Trying once and then giving up is not going to be enough. Keep at it one step at a time. If you can't get by a certain step, then find a creative way to try again or go around it.

Entrepreneurs are people who make decisions, and then they take action and control their own destiny. They are often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work, not luck. The entrepreneur is someone who takes on leadership in home business and builds a team around them, creating more leaders by example and helping those around them to succeed. It’s their mission to create successful people around them so that they are successful too.

Ask yourself where you want to be, believe in your own abilities and develop the skills you need. Be consistent and don’t give up but be flexible enough to change what doesn’t work for you. Learn from successful people around you and duplicate what they have done to be successful and then pay it forward to your team. Share what you know works and develop your leadership and entrepreneurship, growing your reputation along the way.

Setting Work Goals And The Art of Achievement

Ever wondered how some people have everything that the dream of and for many it just remains a dream? Here are some tips on how to help turn your dreams into reality by setting work goals to gain the art of achievement. It’s not a question of luck but more the goals we set and how we achieve these goals.

Understanding what is important to us. Craft goals in line with our values.

If a goal is in line with our values we get energy and motivation that lead us toward the goal. Most of us have experienced this type of energy and motivation at some time in our lives. This maybe Birthdays and Christmas as Children and as Adults buying a house, getting married or looking forward to a holiday in the sun.

The curious thing is how little we target the use of this behaviour towards things that we want in life. It’s because we spend little time working on making our goals fit our situation and values that we have such a high failure rate at achieving them.

I’m sure you’ve set New Year’s resolutions. How many of those did you achieve? What was different, I wonder, between those that you did achieve and those that you didn’t? I suspect that for those that you did not achieve, beneath the reason for not doing so, the cost in terms of time, money or loss of something else was too high.

If we have a greater understanding of our values, craft our goals in line with them, and address some the other key areas listed here, we are rewarded with the energy and motivation to make them happen – with ease.

Optimise the use of our time.

To optimise our time on and towards what we want we must first gain a greater insight into what is important to us, and having done so we must then distinguish between the activities that we do that are important and urgent.

Most of the time we don’t practice this technique. In most cases, many people are reacting, reacting to activities that are asked of them or are left to the point of being urgent. Examples of this are leaving the utilities bills to the last minute or working under a demanding boss or chaotic organisation.

Once understood this essential time management technique is easy to master and is commonly taught in time management programmes. Understanding it within a great context of achievement makes it that much more relevant to learning and putting into practice.

Start with what you have now, with the end in mind

Having established goals that are in line with your values and optimised your time, you need to make a start. It’s important that the start is made with the goal in mind and with a degree of realism on the resources that are available now. Delusion is the result of setting off without a realistic view of what the present situation is. And Delusion soon turns to disappointment which in turn turns to frustration and ultimately little or no significant progress.

At the end of the day we only have 3 resources: Physical and mental energy, time and money. It’s key that we learn how to make optimal use of these resources.  It’s important to plan your activities daily with the goals in mind. According to UK government figures, 80% of businesses don’t have a business plan. Don’t be one of the 80%, get yourself a viable and achievable plan that is flexible and yet targeted to your goals.

Meeting challenges

No amount of planning is going to cater for every eventuality. Many people consider these unplanned events to be problems that prevent progress and give up at that point. People that achieve are not put off by these events and are more energised by the richness of the opportunities that are enveloped in these events.  Remember that for every problem there is a solution, so get your thoughts around the solution rather than the problem and you will be surprised how the problems become insignificant because you have the solution, or at least a potential solution, available to you.

With the right mindset the journey to achievement can be viewed as one opportunity after another to reinforce the ability to succeed.

How we use our imagination

All human beings are blessed with an incredibly powerful imagination. However many imagine outcomes of the future that are not going to be to their advantage. Imagining negative outcomes leads to worry, stress and fear and drains our energy and motivation.

Imagining a positive outcome of the future releases more of the energy and motivation that we need to succeed at our goals.

Fortunately the structure that we use in our minds is the same for both negative and positive imaginations. And with the right know how one can use the skill that generates fear into one that generates excitement and anticipation. The power of positive thought and thought processes is immense.

Forming our goals well

When forming our goals it is essential that we consider a number of factors. A compelling view of how things will be when we have the goal is as important as a clear understanding of what we may possibly lose when we try to reach the goal. Many times the potential loss prevents us from achieving what we want because we have avoided the main issue, which is the potential gain we will make when achieving the goal.

A prime example of this is giving us smoking – many people fail to give up because having a cigarette provides them with an excuse to have a 5 minute break. When this break is factored into things logically, like the fact that they are entitled to the break anyway, then the excuse is irrelevant and then adopting the correct mindset to achieve the goal of quitting, the chances of success are considerably increased.

Believing that it is possible for us to achieve success

It is important that we hold certain positive beliefs about the goal. Many people hold negative beliefs about whether the goal is achievable, whether they will ever achieve it and even whether it is really for them.

It is important to overcome these beliefs or we will be doomed to fail.

Fortunately we are not born with our beliefs and the ones that we develop through childhood and further into our adult life can be changed.

So, by setting work goals correctly we can build our own future and gain a genuine art of achievement.

Is The Universal Law of Attraction Part Of The Secret Of Wealth?

Could the Universal Law of Attraction be a part of the secret of wealth? The universal law of attraction states:

We attract whatever we choose to give our attention to--whether wanted or unwanted.

There are those that think we attract by 'default' rather than by deliberate choice. We are governed by whether we think positively or negatively. For instance, thinking about solutions to potential problems is a positive way to deal with things. This way, the problem ceases to be a problem because you already have dealt with it. If you say to yourself that you have this or that problem to deal with, the “problem” becomes more difficult because you haven’t already thought of the solution.

This is down to mindset. Those who have a positive mindset tend to get more done than those who dwell on “I can’t” or “this is difficult for me” because the negative thinking of the latter prevents the faster progress. Not saying that they won’t make it, but their thought processes need to be changed however slightly.

What Is Sense Of Purpose And How Is It Relevant In MLM Home Business?

What is sense of purpose and how can you adopt a sense of purpose into your MLM home based business.

I have recently been on a call with a top UK Network Marketer who had some real gems of knowledge and tips to share. He talked about things like building a proper business culture and the roles of managers, who generally appear to be “self serving souls” and leaders in the business. There is a fundamental difference between managers and leaders, because managers generally instruct and have big expectations to achieve goals, whereas a leader takes his team and works with them to achieve the goals set out. Basically, the leader takes the team “by the hand” and leads them to the achievement demanded by the manager.

In the MLM home business arena it’s vital that leaders are developed, so it’s important that you build your own unique reputation as a leader and attract more people to you. Develop your leadership around core values such as personal beliefs and ethics, adopting them into your business strategy and then help others to achieve what you have achieved. This way you develop more leaders who will in turn “pay it forward” and build their own great teams and therefore your business will grow too.

Team members will understand the leader because they are both trying to achieve the same goal and are in it for the greater good of the team, whereas managers are less understood in the team environment because of the management culture.

As a leader in your MLM business it’s your task to build your business and your team. If you can get your plan together around helping others and making it your sense of purpose to help your team members to reach a certain level in their business by teaching them to do this, then your own personal goals will be achieved more quickly because you are leveraging your new team members efforts too. Don’t disregard your own recruiting efforts, but you can set aside some time to help the others around you to achieve success and they will become leaders of their new teams. You will be considered as the right choice for your team members for them to work with to build their business, promoting them to do the same.

Leaders create leaders, management demand results.

What Does This Sense Of Purpose Achieve?

Basically, by adopting a true sense of purpose to help others, you develop your business in several ways:

An email arrives that looks interesting and you decide to go check it out. Fifteen or twenty minutes later, you all at once realize that you were working.

The important thing to do is to focus on your task for the day. When working a successful internet business you can do this in a short time, leaving you the rest of the day to browse for different things.

If you don’t focus on your daily routine, you could take hours to do a forty-five minute job. Use your work time wisely. I have interests that I like to explore but I have learned to do that at other times. When I go to work, I concentrate on working. Concentrated focus on your daily tasks will cut down the time you take to do this work.

Don't expect to be successful overnight.

So many people have heard the internet success stories and think wealth will come fast and easy. You are starting a business and building a successful business takes time and effort.

I would not discourage anyone from seeking their dream on the internet. I never enjoyed going to work for someone else every morning. Be realistic when you start out, don't expect success to just fall in your lap. If you go in with the expectations of making a big income your first few months, you are most likely going to be disappointed.

Be prepared for change.

The internet is ever changing and to be a successful business person on the net, you have to be willing to change as well.

You will find techniques that worked last week are antique this week. If you want to be successful working on the internet, you must keep up with the times. There is a lot of great information out there and I suggest that you devote some time each week to looking to find these new ideas.

Check out other businesses in your field and see what they are doing. Initiate contact with other business owners in your field. You may not only learn something new but joint ventures are one of the most successful means of doing business on the net.

See if you can find a mentor to help you in your internet business building efforts. A mentor can help to take your business to a different level and will guide you to your own personal success.

The internet is a great place to work. If you make that decision to venture out into cyberspace as a means of earning an income, take some time and find something you like. Create good work habits, don't have unreasonable expectations and be willing to change.

Perseverance And How To Achieve Goals

I have heard some people say to be successful you need to have perseverance to achieve your goals. This is true, but you need to be careful to do things the right way. Persevering with anything is good, unless it DOESN’T work; then it’s pointless. Set out your goals and find set out the techniques you are going to employ to achieve them. Be flexible and test out the methods you employ to enable you to reach those goals. Be persistent for a month, sure, but if there isn’t any progress, reassess and go again. You will find the way that works for you and then you can be consistent and persistent to grow your business and reach your goals more easily.

Nearly all of the most successful people I know spend a lot of time reading motivational books and articles, so it’s important that you do too.  You want to know what qualities are required for success. The best leaders are also readers and encourage those they mentor to do the same. Remember that great leaders develop leaders in their teams and that is what we are looking to do in our business. Being an expert and leader who helps others to do the same. Moving on…

When we read about the tools required to achieve success, very often we are told that if we really want to be successful, we must have persistence.

Persistence is the quality of never giving up when we encounter challenges.  Of holding on to our dream.  Of refusing to be discouraged no matter what the odds, no matter what happens.

And when you read the life stories of very successful people, they will often tell you about all the hardships they encountered along the way.  They will tell you about the discouragement they occasionally felt when they encountered failure, and about all the people who laughed at them along the way. 

And then they will often tell you that the reason they are successful today is because they were persistent.  They persevered in chasing their dream, no matter what happened. 

So if you have been facing a bit of discouragement while you pursue your dream, reading these success gurus can give you the boost you need to keep on doing what you’ve been doing.  After all, persistence is the key to success. 

Almost everyone says so.

And all those people who encourage you to be persistent are wrong!

Persistence can lead to certain failure if you do not apply persistence in the right way.

Let me explain what these people are leaving out when they tell you to be persistent.

Consider this scenario: every day a middle-aged blonde woman paces back and forth on the sidewalk in front of a big government building.  She is always carrying a big protest sign.  She smiles and waves at all the cars that pass. 

It doesn’t really matter exactly what her sign says, but the words don’t really make any sense. 

There seems to be something about an injustice that happened to her when her husband’s pension was divided up during their divorce.  And there are a few comments about a government conspiracy to cover up the injustice that was done to her. What she’s trying to accomplish with her protest is she’s trying to get the settlement decision changed.

Every day, no matter what the weather, this woman comes out to walk back and forth for two hours in front of this government building and wave at all the people.  Her smile never fails.

After the first two hours of protesting are up, she goes to another place downtown.  She spends another two hours walking back and forth, smiling and waving, in front of a different building a few blocks away. 

She has been doing this every day for at least seventeen years.

She is certainly persistent.

All that persistence and dedication for so many years does not seem to be having any effect, but she does not seem to notice. 

If seventeen years of her walking back and forth carrying this sign hasn’t had any effect, I don’t think that one more day of walking with this sign is going to change the outcome of her divorce.  But she is persistent in continuing her protest.

You could see this type of person anywhere in the world. So what do we learn from this?

These people can teach us all about the real value of perseverance and persistence. 

These people are certainly very persistent, but usually they are not successful.

When success gurus tell us that persistence is an important quality on the road to success, they are often leaving out something important.

When successful people tell you that they got to where they are today because they were persistent, they are actually leaving out a very important part of the story. 

And the part that they are leaving out is this:  They don’t tell you that before they were persistent, they had a goal, and they had a plan on how to get there. 

And all along the way, after every step they took, they stepped back to evaluate the results to see if the results they were getting were the results they wanted.  And if they weren’t getting the results they wanted, then they would change the steps they took, and try something different, until they found a method that worked for them.

These successful people did have persistence, but they were only persistent about holding on to their vision. 

They were never persistent about the method they took to get to their goal.

All along the way, they were prepared to be very flexible and experiment to see what techniques and strategies worked best to get where they wanted to go.

Why do so many successful people leave out this important detail when they tell us the secrets to their success?  Why do they so often neglect to mention that if a strategy wasn’t working, they abandoned it quickly and moved on to another strategy?

I don’t think that successful people deliberately leave out this key information because they don’t want us to be successful.

I think that successful people often leave out this key detail because they assume it’s very obvious to everyone already.  They assume that everyone already knows that you test each step of what you are doing to see whether it’s working or not.  And if it’s not working, you change it.  And you keep trying new approaches until you get something that works, something that gets you closer to the result you want.

People who admire persistence often use the example of Thomas Edison who kept trying to produce an electrical light bulb even after ten thousand failed attempts.

But people often forget that while Thomas Edison was persistent in believing in his goal, he was not persistent in the way he tried to achieve it.  Thomas Edison did not repeat the same experiment over and over again ten thousand times.  

Thomas Edison performed about ten thousand different experiments on his way to trying to find a practical electrical light bulb.

Every time he tried an experiment to produce an electric light bulb, he then stepped back and took some time to evaluate the results.  He figured out what was working and what wasn’t working.  Then he would try something different the next time.  And he would keep track of the results.

So, remember this crucial difference the next time someone tries to tell you that persistence is the key to success.

Without taking some time to evaluate whether or not what you do is actually working, you can be persistent for years, and not achieve the goals you want.

That’s the real truth about persistence and goals.

Using Online Business Networking Groups For MLM - Taking Out The "Hunter Instinct"

You have just started up in an MLM business and want to get into online business networking groups. Of course the first thing you want to do is to tell everyone about it, so immediately you go tell your friends and family, then you sign up for all kinds of message boards, email groups and other business networking websites.

One thing you must remember is that you are dealing with REAL PEOPLE. You may feel that the Internet is just like this anonymous place where you might feel people won’t really notice you if you engage in any “hunter” type behaviour, but realize that the Internet is no different than dealing with people offline.

The important thing is to treat people with respect, get to know them first and you’ll have plenty of valuable contacts for your business. No, most probably won’t join your business opportunity, but they will teach you a lot about business, will refer others to you and will be a great asset to your business – even if they never buy a thing from you. Relationship building is the key to success. One of my business partners recently had a conversation offering advice to someone just chatting and made money from that conversation WITHOUT using any kind of sales technique. Simply helping the person who had the problem led to sales of their products and everyone benefitted.

What NOT to do when contacting people

- Don’t send private messages or emails pitching your business opportunity or products to another member directly as it is rude and very poor taste. The best way to start any relationship is to contact the person because you feel you have something in common, but don’t recruit or sell.

- When you introduce yourself on a networking group, it’s usually okay to say what you do…but don’t invite people to check out your website or say that you are looking for new customers or recruits.

- Even if a message board or networking group allows you to post ads in certain places or on certain days, don’t bother if you’re new. Get to know the group first and then they’ll be more interested your offers.

When starting a new business, you are generally excited and you are driven to get results as quickly as you can. The important thing to remember is that the best results come from building long-term relationships and not from “hunting” on online networking groups.

Building these relationships may seem to be slower initially, but you will find that helping others find solutions to their problems will attract more attention. Get you seen as an expert and build trust. People will like you more and be more inclined to buy from you and / or join you in your business if you approach them in the right way – that is without pressurising a sale or recruiting drive into your business.

Taking these tips into consideration when looking to build your business using online business networking groups will benefit you more in the long term.

There are a couple of reasons initially. These range from the obvious and one of the main reasons why many people join a business – to make money. To be honest with you, it’s much more than that.

Changing The Way You Consider These Two Simple Words Can Change Mindset

When you think of two simple words and how you adopt them into your thought process, you can change mindset and achieve so much more.

What are these words?

They are Must and Should.

While reading Tony Robbins’ best selling Awaken The Giant Within (which I highly recommend) recently I got to the part of the book where he discussed the situation of how you can change your whole attitude and mindset by thinking about how differently these two words can affect how we react.

The story that was talked about was how a friend had a strict fitness and diet regime and stuck to it rigidly and another friend who didn’t have the same drive to do the same. The basic difference was that the one with the drive to keep to her daily routine when asked came up with the answer – “I must train every day and I must eat fruit in the morning” plus a few more things that were attributed to what she did every day.

When asked about how she thought about her situation, the other person said “I should do more exercise and diet so that I get fitter”.

So what was the difference? I’ve started to think the way of “I must” because it develops urgency into what you do and then you are more likely to take action. I have used the “I should” analogy in the past and when I thought about it, that’s all that really happened – I thought about doing it and didn’t. It’s a little like saying “I’ll do it tomorrow”. But there is one thing – Tomorrow never comes! It is always ahead of us.

Change the way you look at what you want to achieve – think of it as “I must do whatever to achieve my goals for today” rather than using the “I should” analogy that does nothing to give you the urgency to complete your task.

Adopt this into your life and into your business and you will see a difference. “I Should” can lead to procrastination, which will kill your business in time. “I must” is the key to changing mindset and getting more done to achieve your business goals.

A recruiting / sales funnel is where you get the visitor’s information then send them to a page with more information about your product or service. Don't Sell The Product, Sell The Benefit

One of the most important things we need to get in business is sales, but one of the most important ways to get the sale is to sell the benefit rather than sell the product.

It doesn’t matter what business you are in, you know what benefits your product or service offer to your potential clients. So sell the benefit, not the product initially. When you go to meet a prospect or communicate online with them, you need to get their attention.

What is the best way to get their attention? Whatever benefits your product offers is the key rather than leading with the product. Generally if you tell people you build websites for example, you could be met with the attitude similar to “how much is this going to cost me?” If you lead with “we provide a way to increase leads, sales and profitability for your business and build up your brand awareness” do you think you have grabbed their attention? You are more likely to get the “how do you do that?” from that type of approach and then you can go into the “sales” process from there. One other useful thing is to provide proof by means of evidence or testimonials to show you have the expertise to produce the results you will be expected to provide.

When you have the prospect’s attention you are able to show them you are the expert and you have what they need. Similar to the old analogy about a person going to the do it yourself store to buy a drill. Why do they go to buy the drill? Because it solves the problem they have to put a hole in the wall to fix a picture they want hung. The solution to the problem is not the drill, it’s the hole. The drill provides the solution.

This is what we have to do in home business. We provide the solution to the problems that our potential prospects have and the benefit is the money that can be earned, the time freedom that can be developed and the benefit of a better lifestyle.

When we are generating leads for our business we need to focus on the benefit we have to offer first. Then we get the lead because we offer the benefit and they join the email list. When they are on the email list you can then build the relationship and develop the sale of your products, service or opportunity. The prospect will see you as the expert because you have the solution they are looking for and you have treated them as “special” in their eyes.

If you approach the process to sell the benefit rather than the product then you are more likely to get the interest of the people you are targeting in your marketing efforts.
